Video: Granada Reports on Eccles Fritter

Scheduled for 6pm tonight (Thursday 15 July) is the Granada Reports coverage of the regional smash-hit wonder, the Eccles Fritter.

Linda Whittaker of Whittaker's Fish and Chips was again on camera (she must be getting used to it now), being interviewed by ITV presenter Paul Crone.

You may remember Paul from the SalfordOnline report about his kayaking trip across the English Channel.

Kerry Martin, PR wizard for the Shop Local campaign, which spawned the deep-fried Eccles cake in the first place, was on hand to oversee proceedings.

We trotted down to Church Street, Eccles, to see the Granada filming in action.

This has gone global!, all over the TV, and every daily paper, we will have film crews from America looking for the legendary Eccles Fritter at this rate, great local story and well done SalfordOnline for giving us the news first.
