Reds Gain Support from Local Eccles MP
Salford City Reds' application for Super League has been backed by Labour MP for Eccles, Ian Stewart.

Having always been a public supporter of the Reds new stadium, Ian further commented:

“Sport is vital to the City of Salford and the Reds’ continue to fly the flag as our city’s only professional club. The new-format Super League without Salford City Reds is unthinkable and I am sure the Rugby Football League will view the club’s application with the merit it deserves.

“With the best stadium in the game about to come online in 2010 I am sure Super League will benefit hugely from seeing this great sport played in this fantastic arena. I wholeheartedly support the efforts of Salford City Reds to gain a Super League licence as I believe it is vital for the area and the people of the city.”

The latest of several big names to show support for the Reds, Ian joins The Trafford Centre, the Guardian Media Group and Australian Assistant Head Coach, John Cartwright, who have all given their support as the Reds wait for the announcement expected in July.
