By Keith Long

Beechfield United Under 16's who last played on Sunday 27th November 2011 went down 3-1 away to Altrincham Juniors following a Timperley and District Junior League Division 2 Cup tie.

In a hard fought contest both teams were constantly frustrated by some bizarre decisions. Aaron Keenan scored United's consolation goal and Ashley Sykes-Baines was chosen as Man of the Match.

Also in Timperley and District League cup action were the Under 14's Tornados who met Urmston Town Tigers at Beech Farm Playing Fields.

The visitors led 2-0 at the interval but United created a superb fightback and went 3-2 infront via Oliver Quinn (2) (1 pen) and Man of the Match Kyle Leather. Two goals in two minutes both scored following corners gave Urmston Town Tigers a lucky 4-3 win.

The Under 13's Hurricanes produced their best performance so far this season in the Stax City of Salford Soccer League.

Beechy superb exhibition of non-stop attacking football earned them a thoroughly deserved 4-0 home victory against Salford Junior Raiders. Keeper Nathan Williams was virtually a spectator, Man of the Match was Callum Lockett while the goals came via Reece Ratcliffe (2) and James Sinclair (2)

United's Under 12's Storm hold a five point lead at the top of Division 1 in the SSOSSL. Taylor Share (4) Tom Battersby (2) and Kai Miller fired in the goals as United ran out easy 7-0 winners of the home game with De La Salle Devils. Sharing the Man of the match Award were Taylor Share and Alfie Belcher.

With key players missing the Under 12's Predators always struggled against Moorside Rangers Red and eventually suffered a 6-1 home defeat. Jordan Coates scored the consolation goal.

Another Beechy team back in action following a lengthy lay-off were the Under 11's Hurricanes who created a vastly improved display in the away game at Boothstown Juniors.

United who lost 9-4 in the Challenge Cup hit goals by Elliot Kelly (2) Daniel Wright and Louis Kennedy. The Best Player Award was shared between Elliot Kelly and Mason Byrne.

The Under 11's Storm made it through to the semi-final's of the MCFA Youth Cup following their 2-1 away victory in the quarter-final's at Glossop North End. After travelling almost thirty miles to their opponents ground United made a superb start to the tie and after dominating the first half led 1-0 at the break thanks to a goal from Jordan Coates.

Glossop North End looked better organised in the second period and were rewarded with an equalising goal but Beechy stepped up a gear and Jordan Coates was on target again with the match winner. Ethan Haynes and Jace Winspear

The in-form Under 9's Storm collected three vital points and moved up to second place in the SSOSSL's Division 1 table after their 7-3 win at Flixton Junior Bulldogs.

Finding the back of the net were Callum Doyle (hat-trick) Man of the Match Harry McLellan-Grant (2) Alfie Marks and Anton Smith.

In action for the first time in seven weeks were Beechy Under 7's Storm who met Deans Sports. M-O-M Adam Rothwell and Charlie Armitage got the goals.
