Beechfield United Under 15's Girls end of season review
By Keith Long

The Under 15's Girls team ended the 2011-2012 season in the Bolton Bury and District Junior Football League on a winning note.

Retaining the Chairman's Cup was the main highlight, closely followed by finishing as runners-up in the Section A table.

The season kicked-off last August, where United were forced to recruit new personal after five players, as well as the team manager, left the club. The newly formed squad didn't hold their first real training session until three days before their first official league fixture.

Beechy got off to a flying start when they won the first game 14-0. The girls however then went on to loose their next two games and new Manager David Farrand and Coach Steve Smith knew they were faced with a tough task.

Thankfully, the team re-discovered the winning formula and tasted victory in the next three games. Beechy went on to loose again, before having a four match winning streak that was interuppted by a twelve week lay off due to a combination of adverse weather and the Christmas and New Year break.

No games on a few Sunday's in March and April, meant a few problems were caused, but the girls managed to remain totally focused and thus followed a goalless draw with champions Ladybridge girls.

The league record was P14 W10 D1 L3 Goals For 55 Against 17 Points 31. During the course of the season, injuries to key players caused a few selection problems and the players all-round team spirit and ability proved to be a key factor.

Both Team Manager, Coach and all the girls would like to say a special thank you to the parents and loyal fans for their vocal and financial support. They would also like to say thank you to their sponsor Mary Monson Solicitors who are based in Swinton, as well as Proctor and Gamble, Creamline Dairies and Salford Driver Training School for their financial support.

Many thanks also to Dorothy and Glen Sheerin who purchased the girls training kit. Much appreciation from David Farrand (Manager) and Steve Smith (Coach) as well as all the players Megan Kenyon, Rebecca Duff, Emily Johnson, Shauna Smith, Chloe Sheerin, Chloe Ash, Shannon Smith, Rachel Farrand, Rebecca Hill, Stephanie Worsley, Sarah Bates and Danielle Farrand.
