Salford football fanatic Abbie gains coaching qualifications
Sixteen year old, Abbie Hamer, from Salford has been awarded a Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football thanks to Metrolink − Manchester County Football Association’s official transport partner.
Passionate about helping local communities, Metrolink joined forces with the Manchester County FA to offer funding to aspiring football coaches across Greater Manchester. The Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football was awarded to Abbie this week.
This is the first step towards becoming a recognised football coach, and obtaining the certificate means Abbie is able to coach grassroots club teams for children and young people, under the supervision of a qualified football coach.
Abbie is a member of Swinton Football Club, and comments on her qualification: “I’d like to thank Metrolink for the fantastic opportunity. Completing my Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football has been a great achievement, and will give me the work experience I need for my future career as a PE teacher. As well as my college studies I hope to continue to learn and complete my level 2 Coaching Qualification by the end of the year.”
Peter Cushing, Transport for Greater Manchester’s Metrolink Director, said: “As official travel partner of the Manchester County FA, we do our very best to support local communities – it’s rewarding to see how passionate Abbie is about football and teaching the youth of today at the tender age of just sixteen. We want to wish her the best of luck in her future coaching career.”
