Prescription medicine was taken in a robbery at a pharmacy in Salford.
At about 6.10pm on Monday 1 March 2010, two masked men carrying baseball bats went into the Lloyds Pharmacy, MacDonald Road, Irlam. Once inside, one of the offenders threatened staff and demanded Diazepam tablets, which he placed in a navy bag. While the first man was stealing the drugs, his accomplice forced another member of staff to open the till and took a small amount of cash. Both men ran off through the front door of the shop towards Dixon Street / Caroline Street. The offenders were white men aged in their 20s. The first man was wearing a navy blue top with red detailing on it and dark tracksuit bottoms. The second robber was wearing a black sports top and dark tracksuit bottoms. One of them was carrying a navy bag. Inspector Jill Gorse, based at Eccles Police Station, said: "Nobody should have to face criminals acting in such a threatening manner in their place of work so these men must be caught. "Also, this medicine is potentially dangerous unless taken as prescribed by a doctor so it is important that we find those responsible and track down these tablets. "If you know who did this, are offered any of these drugs or have any information that might help our investigation, please contact me."
