Shotgun fired at door in Duchy
Shortly before 1.45am on Wednesday 18 August 2010, police were called to Stanhope Road, Duchy following reports a front door had been shot.

Officers found damage to the door, hallway and lounge believed to be caused by a shot gun.

No one was injured.

Detective Sergeant Rocque Fernandes of GMP Major Incident Team said: "Young children were in this house and those inside are extremely lucky no one was seriously injured. Incidents like this are rare.

"I want to reassure the public that the police are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.

"I urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact the police. Someone in the area will know who is responsible for this blatant disregard for people's safety."

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 5448 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
