A man has been charged over an attempted robbery in Salford.
Paul Barrett (born 24/01/1986) of Dixon Street, Irlam, has been charged with attempted robbery.

He was due to appear at Salford Magistrates' Court on Thursday 19 August 2010. He is next due to appear at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday 16 September 2010.

The charges relate to an incident at 8.45pm on Tuesday 17 August 2010, where a group of men tried to rob a man of his laptop bag on Tully Street, Higher Broughton, but were stopped when residents saw what was happening and intervened.
