A man has been charged with aggravated burglary and following an incident in Salford where a man was fatally stabbed.
Martin Jamieson (30/05/1984) of Langholme House, Eccles has been charged with aggravated burglary and is due to appear at Salford Magistrates' Court on Friday 1 July 2011.
Wesley Gibbons (12/06/1988) of Circle Court, Lostock Circle, Stretford was previously charged with aggravated burglary and appeared before Salford Magistrates' Court on Thursday 30 June 2011.
Christopher Troy, born 14/8/87, of St Marys Road, Hyde, was previously charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article and appeared before Salford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 29 June 2011.
Shortly before midnight on Wednesday 22 June 2011, police were called to a house on Ethel Avenue, Pendlebury following reports of a burglary.
A few minutes later, John Leonard Bennell, 27, from Hyde, was found injured. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of his death as being a stab wound to the chest.
A 30-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of burglary has been released without charge.
A 59-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed until 25 July pending further police inquiries.
A 27-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were released without charge after being arrested.
