Residents were allowed back into their homes earlier tonight after being temporarily evacuated after two suspicious devices were found.

At 11.35am on Saturday 28 January 2012, police searched a flat on Grasmere Crescent in Winton, Salford.

Two suspicious devices were found and the bomb disposal team attended to make the devices safe.

A cordon remained in place as a precaution until the search was completed and a number of nearby addresses were evacuated. Residents were allowed back home a few hours later.

Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of explosive substances under the Explosive Substances Act. They remain in police custody for questioning.
