Strike action "will affect us", say council
Services carried out by Salford City Council are likely to be affected by national strike action on Wednesday 30 November 2011.

A spokesperson for Salford Council said: "It is possible that some council buildings will need to close and services such as refuse collections may not be going ahead on that particular day. But it will not be possible to say exactly which services will be affected until the day itself."

The strikes will involve workers from across the public sector, who are protesting about proposed changes to public sector pension schemes.

"Contingency arrangements are in place to maintain care for the most vulnerable residents,
and in an emergency you will be able to contact the council on 0161 794 4711," the spokesperson noted.

Up to date details of the services affected by the strike will be available on the council website (click below).
